Jane has worked in both private and public services, including community health, mainstream and specialist school settings, home-based services and early intervention settings. Her time in community health developed her understanding of the importance of family-centred practice and teamwork with other professionals. This is the ethos of Smart Talking and one of the core values she instils with the new graduates she mentors and supports within the team.

Jane works with pre-school, primary and secondary school-aged children. She has a particular passion and clinical interest in self-advocacy, social communication and pragmatics. She also works with children who are experiencing difficulties understanding language (receptive language), using language (expressive language) and with speech sound disorders. She sees children in individual, paired or small group settings.

Jane is committed to providing a caring, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach for children and their families. She strives to create engaging and enjoyable sessions, incorporating each child’s interests to promote motivation, participation and achievement of therapy goals.

Jane is available for training and support for allied health and education staff. She is also available to provide therapeutic groups to children in education settings. She provides training and groups in the areas of early language, social commination, Social Stencil and Story Champs.
