
Jane Smart
Jane has over 24 years of experience working as a speech pathologist with children and their families. Jane founded Smart Talking Speech Pathology in 2015.
Jane has worked in both private and public services, including community health, mainstream and specialist school settings, home-based services and early intervention settings.

She works with pre-school, primary and secondary school-aged children. She has a particular passion and clinical interest in self-advocacy, social communication and pragmatics. She also works with children who are experiencing difficulties understanding language (receptive language), using language (expressive language) and with speech sound disorders. She sees children in individual, paired or small group settings.
Jane is committed to providing a caring, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach for children and their families. She strives to create engaging and enjoyable sessions, incorporating each child’s interests to promote motivation, participation and achievement of therapy goals.
Jane is a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia and has undertaken training in Social Stencil, Sounds-Write®, Social Thinking®, PECS, Makaton and BLADES.
