OUR SERVICES

Assessment

The first session will be an individual assessment session. The speech pathologist will discuss any concerns you have with your child’s communication skills and will complete an assessment of your child’s communication skills.

Feedback and recommendations based on the outcomes of the assessment will be provided.

Social Learning Groups: offered during the term and during school holidays for children in primary school

These groups are run by experienced speech pathologists and aim to develop children’s social awareness and social communication skills.

The goals and activities completed will vary depend on the needs and goals of the children attending the group. The group sessions are a great way to further practise the skills worked on in individual sessions in a safe and structured environment.

All children are required to attend an initial screening to determine their suitability for the group sessions.

Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are between 30-45-60 minutes depending on your child’s needs.

Specific goals will be set with the family and are based on the outcome of the assessment.

Parent training and involvement is an integral component of the therapy sessions. Home practice activities and strategies will also be provided.

Let’s Get Ready for Prep Groups: offered during the term and during school holidays for children in pre-school/kinder

These groups are run by experienced speech pathologists and aim to prepare children for school.

The groups work on developing children’s attention and listening skills, social skills, language skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, independence skills and phonological awareness skills.

The groups offer a fun learning environment with structured play (e.g. circle time, table activities) as well as more informal play based activities.
