Group Programs

Social Learning Groups

Offered during the term and during school holidays for children in primary school. This group aims to develop children’s social awareness and social communication skills. We take time to plan and group children according to age, interest and need. The goals and activities completed will vary depend on the needs and goals of the children attending the group. The group sessions are a great way to further practise the skills worked on in individual sessions in a safe and structured environment.

Community Outing Groups

Offered during the school holidays. Outings include op shopping, café outing or buying an item from a local shop. This group develops confidence and communication skills whilst out in the community. We plan and role-play the outing in the clinic and then go out into the community to practise ordering and paying for our item – this could include buying a hot chocolate from the café or buying a toy from the op shop!

Let’s Get Ready for Prep Groups

Offered during the term and during school holidays for children in pre-school/kinder. This group aims to prepare children for school. We take time to plan and group children according to age, interest and need. The groups work on developing children’s attention and listening skills, social skills, language skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, independence skills and phonological awareness skills. The groups offer a fun learning environment with structured play (e.g. circle time, table activities) as well as more informal play-based activities

Konnect Social Skills

This is a neuro-affirming program that reframes communication and connection for Autistic children. Unlike traditional social skills training that often encourages masking or mimicking non-autistic behaviors, the Konnect series aims to build positive self-identity and confident self-advocacy by teaching about both Autistic and non-autistic communication styles. We are excited to use the Konnect social skills approach and resources in our groups.

Play, make and Mingle Groups

3-hour group offered during the school holidays. This group guides children through creative and playful activities to develop social and communication skills whilst having fun! Activities include crafts, cooking, building, obstacle course, game and a mini outing.

Social Stencil Groups

This is an Australian evidence-based neuro-affirming social-emotional curriculum that builds mutual understanding, positive peer connections and belonging. We are excited to be trained to now offer this group to children aged 8-14 years focusing on developing social-emotional skills like friendship, conflict resolution, and understanding social cues through structured, fun activities and not rigid rules!
