Kristy Corey
Kristy is a Speech Pathologist at Smart Talking, having previously worked within the team as an Allied Health Assistant. This background has shaped her strong commitment to family-centred practice and collaborative teamwork within the Smart Talking team, as well as with educators, families, and other professionals supporting each child.
Kristy provides neuro-affirming therapy that focuses on functional, meaningful goals that support children in their everyday lives. Her sessions are tailored to each child’s interests and strengths, supporting engagement while targeting meaningful goals in communication, social interaction, and literacy.
As a neurodivergent clinician, Kristy brings lived experience to her work. This allows her to support children in a respectful way, affirming, and grounded in genuine understanding—not just clinical knowledge.
She has a particular interest in working with school-aged children and offers support in:
-
social communication
-
language development
-
providing neuro-affirming, age-appropriate education to help children understand their strengths, differences, and communication style
-
speech and articulation
-
literacy skills
-
building confidence and self-advocacy
Kristy is also a trained Social Stencil facilitator and can deliver this support individually or in group settings.
She is passionate about helping children build confidence and independence, and works closely with families, and other professionals involved to ensure strategies are practical, collaborative, and easy to carry over into everyday environments.
